What a session feels like

A structured walkthrough with time for questions and careful handling guidance.

  • Clear definitions for common terms: crown, bezel, lug width, power reserve, water resistance.
  • Practical do-and-don’t guidance for setting, winding, and safe storage.
  • Optional strap fitting overview: spring bars, quick-release, clasp and buckle comfort.

Workshops are educational. We do not perform repairs or provide certified technical inspections during sessions.

Workshop themes

Each theme is built as a coherent lesson with vocabulary, hands-on demonstrations, and realistic scenarios. You can attend a single topic or follow a sequence from fundamentals to deeper appreciation.

We keep the tone neutral and brand-agnostic. The goal is to help you understand the craft and care behind watches so you can enjoy your own pieces responsibly.

Mechanical Foundations

A clear introduction to how a mechanical watch measures time: energy storage, regulation, and the roles of key components. You will learn what people mean by “beat rate” and how it relates to the feel of a seconds hand.

Recommended if you are curious about automatic watches or want to understand the language used in movement descriptions.

Everyday Watch Care

Build routines that protect your watch in real life: safe setting practices, handling around water, magnetism awareness, and storage. We also explain what servicing typically includes and how to talk to a watchmaker.

Best for new owners who want clear habits and a checklist for common situations like travel or changing seasons.

Quartz and Modern Practicality

Quartz is often the most convenient starting point. This session covers how quartz regulation works, what accuracy means in daily use, and how battery changes and sealing relate to water resistance and long-term reliability.

Useful if you want a grounded comparison between movement types without hype or brand bias.

Straps, Fit, and Styling

Learn practical strap sizing, lug width, and comfort adjustments. We cover leather, metal, rubber, and textile options, plus how to match materials and colours to everyday outfits and settings.

Includes a careful overview of strap changes using safe techniques and basic tools, with a focus on protecting the case and lugs.

What you will leave with

A practical checklist

Simple routines for handling and storage, plus a “what to ask” list for service visits so you can describe issues clearly and avoid confusion.

Better questions

The ability to interpret key specifications and compare watches across movement types, case sizes, and materials without relying on marketing language.

How to request a session

To keep workshops relevant and comfortable, we coordinate interest through the contact page. Share what you want to learn and your current experience level. We use your message only to respond and suggest a suitable session or reading path.

If you prefer self-paced learning, our Guides and Movements sections provide a structured starting point, and our Care track covers everyday routines and terminology used by service providers.

Workshop readiness tips

If you bring a watch to discuss, keep it simple and safe. Do not bring pieces that are water-damaged, showing severe performance issues, or requiring urgent repair. Educational sessions are not repair appointments. If you are unsure, ask via contact first.

What to bring
  • Your watch (optional) and any spare strap you use
  • Questions about care, setting, or movement basics
  • Notes on daily wear habits and environments
What we avoid
  • Disassembly, repairs, or diagnostic guarantees
  • Unverified water resistance checks on-site
  • Brand pressure or purchase-driven recommendations

By contacting us, you acknowledge our educational focus and the handling boundaries described above. Details about data use are in our Privacy Policy.
